Waycot Holiday Cottage in Staithes

This charming, quaint and cosy fisherman's cottage is hidden away on a quiet terrace, yet is only a five minute walk from the harbour through the cobbled streets of Staithes. This traditional Staithes cottage has been carefully restored to retain its original character, with beamed ceilings, steep and winding cottage stairs and a boarded partition separating the small kitchenette from the living room. The latter is warm and snug, with an effective multi-fuel stove, and seats three adults comfortably. Two bedrooms offer flexibility for couples or small families.

Staithes itself is a picturesque village much loved by artists and made famous by the Staithes Group. It has a beach and harbour, pubs, shops, craft centre, tea rooms, bistro and restaurant, also an excellent Captain Cook & Staithes Heritage Centre. Nearby attractions include Whitby, with its harbour, abbey and historic St Mary's Church; Saltburn to the north with pier, cliff lift and extensive sands; the North York Moors and North York Moors Steam Railway which runs from Grosmont to Pickering. Coastal and country walks abound.
